Announcing our 2022 Charity: Lending a Hand
Colorado Anime Fest and parent company Broad Horizons Events Corp. will be donating 100% of the proceeds from our charitable programming, including our silent and live auctions, to Boulder county charity Lending a Hand.
Founded by single mother Serena Overson, Lending a Hand is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Louisville, CO. They help those in need with an online-based support system and a donations-powered free store that is stocked with essentials including clothing, housewares, toiletries, toys, and other merchandise.
Lending a Hand's current primary mission is helping Marshall Fire survivors. They also work with those affected by the NCAR Fire, the recent shooting at the Table Mesa King Soopers in Boulder, and assist community members with various needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Learn more about Lending a Hand on their Facebook Group (Boulder is their main hub) and follow them on Instagram. The Lending a Hand Free Store is located at 1075 E South Boulder Rd Louisville, CO, 80027 (next to the Taj Mahal restaurant).
Watch COAF social media for a preview of available auction items! We have autographed goods from cast members of My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Genshin Impact, Fire Emblem, Persona, Hunter x Hunter, Overwatch, Cowboy Bebop, Aggretsuko, the Viz dub of Sailor Moon, past COAF guests, and more!
Other ways to help: COAF staffer and Louisville resident Jinnie frequently re-stocks Lending a Hand's Free Store with new and gently-used anime, cosplay and pop culture donations for fire survivors to rebuild their collections. If you have donations to contribute (blu-rays and DVDs, figures, keychains, wall scrolls or other anime merch, clean cosplays, manga, etc) please contact Jinnie to make arrangements or bring them to the Communications Division Office at-con!
