2018 Guest: Kieran Strange & WE ARE THE CHAOS

He’s been compared to David Bowie, Tony Stark, Ramona Flowers, and Tank Girl! – but IRL, he’s Kieran Strange, a quirky and powerful young artist blending pop sensibilities, dynamic guitars, and high-energy live rock shows into his own brand of geeky British pop-punk. At the age of seventeen, he left his parents, family, and small English fishing village behind in order to chase his dream of making music; he travelled to Vancouver (Canada) where he now resides, writing and performing songs about resistance, relationships, and RPGs.
Standing firmly as a voice for the different and discarded, it was actually during COAF 2016 that Kieran decided to change his pronouns from “she” to “he” following a long public struggle with his own “transgender” identity. He is always open, outspoken, and passionate in his beliefs; some of the causes he fights to support include LGBTQ+/SAGA issues and rights, feminism, autism awareness, racial equality, refugee and immigrant rights, many forms of mental health and suicide awareness, and more.
With two EP releases under his belt, the bedheaded geek has toured multiple counties (including Canada, USA, UK, and Japan), and played hundreds of shows, conventions, and festivals. In 2016, Kieran joined forces with Dave Kitsberg (The Spoony Bards, Time Crash, Arc Impulse, Lemon Demon, and more); the boys have been working tirelessly on a cache of new tunes and parodies, which are set to be released later in 2018 under the band name WE ARE THE CHAOS!
But if you can’t wait that long for new content from Kieran, make sure you check out his novel: a M/M urban sci-fi thriller called BLACK TIE: Book 1 of the Sparrow Archives. The 110,000-word action/adventure features LGBTQ+ and political aspects, drawing inspiration from fandoms such as the DC and Marvel comics/movies/telly, Sherlock, Supernatural, etc, and is available now on Amazon both in eBook and paperback formats.
Catch up with Kieran and his band this weekend at the con, or online @KieranStrange on various social media sites! PARTY HARD, PARTY SAFE!!! 😉
